With the advances in technology, the ability of electric customers
to respond to market signals through distributed generation, load reduction,
energy-efficiency and other technologies is more relevant today than
at any other time. The Price Responsive Load Coalition (PRLC) was founded
to advocate for the wholesale mechanisms for load response to participate
on equal footing with other resources.
The PRLC has aggressively participated in many of the ISO Committies
and Working Groups to further the PRLC’s mission to expand the
opportunities for demand response participation in the developing RTO
run wholesale markets. The PRLC's Mission is to promote the ability
of electric customers to respond to market signals through load reduction,
curtailment, fuel switching, generation, energy-efficiency, and other
technologies. The PRLC works towards ensuring that Demand Response can
effectively participate in wholesale markets.
